An Experienced Therapist
For more than 15 years, I have worked with children and teenagers who suffer from emotional and behavioural difficulties. My time spent working with schools, charities, and family centres has given me invaluable insight into what type of counselling each child needs to overcome their difficulties.
Empathetic Services
I offer both short- and long-term therapy for children with a variety of needs. My aim is always to help young people make sense of what they are experiencing emotionally. To help me explore and understand a child or teenager’s thoughts and feelings with them, I use a range of techniques, including play, art, and talking.
Often, children express their feelings in ways which others may not understand. This is why counselling is an effective way of empowering children and teens to explore and learn new ways of self-expression. I also work with schools and colleges to provide short- or long-term support for children and teens with complex needs.

A Personal Approach
There are many different reasons why a child or young person may need therapeutic support, and I tailor all sessions to the individual, while also working at their pace to achieve the best outcome from the therapy. Using a variety of methods, I help children find their inner strength to cope with problems.
When working with adolescents, I consider the transitions they face in physical development, education, and peer groups. All of these situations can bring out anxieties that can lead to harmful feelings and behaviours.
To ensure the best possible outcome is achieved from the child or teen’s therapy sessions, I build a rapport with them to ensure they feel comfortable and confident when talking to me. The client will explore new personal skills that will transfer out of the sessions into other environments and provide a productive tool for the long term.

Counselling Session Costs
Each child/young person’s session lasts 45 minutes and takes place at the same time each week. Sessions cost between £55 - £60. Before providing any counselling, I require a consultation with either the parent or guardian of the client to identify whether therapy is appropriate.
